Proceed to the Table Wizard.
Using the TaxStats Table Wizard, you will be able to:
- Create and manipulate your own customized data tables using aggregated Statistics of Income Corporation data
- Choose the variables (tax return items) that are included in your table
- Select specific categories of returns based on asset size class, income year, and industry code
- Modify the table by adding or removing variables or return groups
- Calculate simple summary statistics to replace the dollar amounts in the table cells
- Save it to your PC in a variety of formats
To Create a table:
- Select a data set from the 5 choices.
- Highlight the variables you would like to include. (The default is All Variables.)
- Click on the appropriate button to indicate how the variables should be displayed (ie: row, column or page).
- Select other characteristics (income year, industry group, and asset size class) to further customize the data.
- Select the GO button to view the finished table.
To Modify the table:
Once you have created your initial table, you can modify it by changing the content, or organization of the table:
- Using the drop-down boxes labeled “Modify” you can rearrange the rows and columns or remove variables.
- Select ‘modify’ from the Left Navigation Bar to add additional variables.
- Other options on the Left Navigation Bar allow you to add or remove totals, percentages, etc.
To Save the table:
Select the desired format from the choices displayed on the Left Navigation Bar:
- Excel (.XLS): note limitation to 256 columns and 65,536 rows per table/spreadsheet
- Text (.CSV): comma-separated values format
- Text (.TXT): tab-separated values format
Now you are ready to begin:
Proceed to the Table Wizard.
